full on hey! [}:)]

nope trauma, it's not my video. i often visit www.weatherzone.com.au to keep up to date with the forecasts. it is an excellent site by the way. full of meteorologists. also good place to learn about weather.

anyways, long story longer. one of the members uploaded it and i stumbled across the link.

Yes it was exactly like that! We decided not to go sailing that day at Wello. If we had I doubt we would have been able to get home. All roads to The Gap were blocked by trees or powerlines.
We live not far from the worst of it but luckily only had some broken windows, water damage and big tree smashed the back fence.

I know there are other windsurfers in The Gap, so I hope they all fared OK.

Glad to hear it Michele.
We got off lightly too. Tree on the roof, broken tiles, water damage but that's it.
The pool of course has returned to nature. Nameless creatures slither about in the dank foetid mud hole that we used to swim in. A recovery program is under way.

I have to say I was impressed beyond words with the community response. People came out of the woodwork offering assistance. Those SES guys deserve more than a kiss and a cuddle. Don't know what to say really. This is something to remember the next time I sink into a cynical funk.
