I know Hooray was keen for some gear for the juniors he looks after up at Burrum Heads. Perhaps it's worth giving him a PM, at least it would be going to a cause along the lines of your initial intentions.

might not be any help but some of the adjustable lines are really good. others are really crap. i haven't bought any for a while but the neil pryde adjustable i got last time are brilliant.

i've had a few question re the boards.

the boards are not suitable for beginners (unfortunately). they are older style narrow slalom/wave boards even though 2 of them have good volume.

but for someone wanting to learn short board sailing these would be excellent to get you into your first planing runs and carve gybes.

they are indestructible.

The Billabong outlet shop at Ashmore had adjustable Dakine harness lines for $10, I bought a pair , know some others have too.

sorry scott, i completely missed your post.

i'd gladly hand it over to ray and the juniors but i think it will be a hinderance to them in reality. cheap affordable wide beginner gear is difficult to track down.

that said one of the boards is going to a junior up the sunshine coast who is already sailing. i'll give it a clean so it looks as good as new.

starboard have helped the wanderers in the past and donated a kids rigs. they might have some gear lying around that's cost effective. especially once they know there's kids involved. they are pretty good with that.

was just thinking, do you know if the kids are ready for shortboards? if so then i'll swing 2 boards his way. might even be some adults up there looking for their first short board. these thing are plastic so could sit outdoors for years and not fall apart.

Sounds like they could be a match. The one I gave him was an old style shorty. I'll email him with a link to this post.
