Hi all. Could anyone recommend any flat water sailing near twe3d head. Am staying in Kingscliffs for the next two weeks and would like to sail a bit. I'm still a beginner but can wat3rstart on the occasion sit in the harness and get my feet 8n the loops. Thanks ![]()
A few of us have sailed in the tweed river near the golf course. You can launch from fingal head side or you can drive down the public road behind the gold course (full of pot holes). It works on a southerly or northerly.
On Wednesday I went to an great little cafe on the Fingal side and the wind was perfect for that spot about 20 knots SSW. Didn't have my gear though.
Ive done afew drift dives there,so mind the current it can hook through there pretty quick.be sure not to get in a position where you might have to clamber up some nice oyster covered rocks if the wind drops out on you.
oo I have never sailed there - it seems to line up with the se perfectly - is it fresh water or salt & deep enough?
Hi, yes, plenty salty and plenty deep. and heaps of sea life too.large and small.even saw an angler fish there last year. Very cool'
