hey all howz things i am thinking bout moving to the east coast, thinkin round brisban area, where u think the best all year round wind is along the coast. i learnt to ride in wellington nz so am use to heavy wind. was looking at headin to morton island, but from wat i understand it is a shark breeding ground??
also wat is the wind like as rule of thumb in oz and it there better spots to live for wind??

Wellington point in Brisbane is very popular with the kiters. Instead of a wellykiter you would be a Wellokiter.
noooo, sunshine coast is way better for an experienced chap like wellykiter.
wellington point is good for beginner kiters 
but he sounds way beyond that
Brighton is the spot. No sailboarders, just Kiters. Heaps of them. Also a lot at Wello. But of course a few have found power lines and shop windows...haha

If you are used to strong winds, Brisbane isn't the place to be... You need to look at Perth, Western Australia!
Otherwise, spots to choose from...
Sandgate (more consistent wind than Wello-Brighton and 'The Pool' to chooice from)
Redcliffe (more consistent wind than Wello- Queens Beach, Pelli Pt, Scarbs etc to chooise from)
Wellington Point (Flat water and rocks - Hence Wello like part of my email addy lol)
Manly (Flat water)
Gold Coast (surf and flat water)
Sunshine Coast (surf and flat water)
More kiters at Redcliffe than at Wello or Manly.

LOL smooth.... haha.. I dated a Redcliffe Kiter for a long while so saw all these spots outside of Wello...
I've never been to Bribie...
The furtherest I've actually been from Wello is SunnyCoast, Goldy and Straddy....
I would rate those three over the others for the clear water, sand and expanse of beach!!!!
I agree, sailing in blue waters, with white sandy beaches, is the best experience. Moreten bays murky brown experience, isn't as enticing.

Can you live on Moreton Island? I thought there was bugger all free hold land there, just a couple of resorts and the rest national park. I don't think its as windy there as you might think. I think the met station is pretty high and the wind readings are deceptive. I don't see why it would be any windier than the rest of the ocean side east coast and none of that is anything like as windy as Wellington.
