Yes, yes I know...unfortunately it's always during the week and trying to get away from work at 5 for a 40minute session max if you're lucky is frustrating. Bring on daylight saving I say...hey has anyone discussed DLS for Qld before?

It's been trialled and rejected. The country types didn't like it. Ridiculous. The sun's up here before 5 now - what a waste of daylight. We could all be getting a couple of hour's sailing after work easy.

I'm heading up to 1770 and camping over Christmas. I have never been before and reading this thread makes me wonder if it is worth bringing the gear up. Any of the CQ locals know if you can sail up there? any info would be much appreciated.

Moz,
It's not coral spawn it's trichodesmium en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichodesmium
And it's all gone now with last weeks wind and rain. Water still that beautiful brown colour though.

PS - if I didn't know any better, you're really down on CQ at moment. It ain't all that bad, although my clients are somewhat more cultured than the ones you have to deal with.

Eggs,
I have sailed a SE off the eastern beach (just north of Agnes Beach) which had some okay wave riding and ramps - just be careful as the shore break can be quite vicious and does close out very quickly. Also was there recently (without any gear of course) when it blew 20kn NE everyday. You can't sail 1770 in a SE as it's too sheltered but you should get some great flat water sailing at low tide or b&j at high if NE - just have to dodge all the moorings in the channel. Xmas usually throws up some good NE's too.

I thought the Rocky Locals all went for a swim at Yeppoon and discoloured the water

my clients drink anything under $10

yours drink unwooded Whites and vintage Reds! all over $10

Not too bad at the moment, going up to Airley for 5 days then goldy for 5 days from Saturday. Yes the Equipment is coming with me to the Goldy!!!!!

I will be attempting my first forward loop if all goes well with the weather!!!!

Stay Tuned!!!!

Hey Gmoz if your going to airlie next week with your gear, don't bother W/S there, its too squally with big holes, drive up to Bowen,45 mins north. Give me a yell and we'll find a spot as long as there is some sort of wind.

Im a massive fan of Yeppoon sailing in summer! Gestalt is right, you just get week after week of consistent 20 knot arvo's with big ocean swells. Fantastic spot. Except when the locals try and claim salvage rights on your catamaran!

Sausage you still hanging around that point waiting for unsuspecting tourists?
