Wow it windy here, easily up to or over 20knts. I'm going to try to risk the vintage today, but watching the Pros out yesterday the speed they were going was awesome. I'm all rigged up just gotta get the energy to drag the old board to the water.

So if ya want some speed with strong winds come upto Lake Cootharaba, and watch me fail lol.

Well got the old board out on the water today, and wow it really goes in strong winds (20+ knots). It's the first time I have properly been on the plane with the Wayler.

I think I know where I want this great sport to take me... SPEED Runs, I love the speed what an adrenalin rush. Another Really BIG thanks goes out to Zane from the Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club for giving me a hand and a few pointers before and after I got into the water. And a really BIG thanks for the New/second hand Clamp on Booms which I think made a big difference in how I sailed today. Again people like Zane are why I am really getting into this sport, everyone is so helpful and friendly, not like my other hobby.

Thanks again Zane and everyone for being so helpful

Hey Gregwed,

My other hobby is Radio Control Planes and Helicopters. Unless you are a member of a club no one wants to know you and even then they still don't want to have much to do with you, so giving that one a break for a while and focusing on Windsurfing.

And yes definately want to go faster. I love speed, my fastest RC plane does about 120kph on a rough day and that's still not fast enough for me. Lol.

But with this I am going to have to invest in a GPS for sure. Even though I only have a vintage board I want to push the limits and see what cobwebs I can blow out of it.

I think I am going to have a lot more fun with this in the future, I have even gotten a few friends hooked and now they have an old board as well.

Good to see you enjoying it DeeJay and nothing wrong with a vintage board if you're having fun, I had heaps of fun on an old plastic Windsurfer when I started
Did you meet Hoppy Bob at the lake, now there's a bloody inspiration if I ever saw one

Ott
I'm into RC models as well

One my favorite things about Elanda pt on Cootharaba is that when its calm I can fly my RC models on the football fields - makes a great holiday with all my favorite toys ;)

Just met Glynn from Wellington point this week and he is into RC as well

Cheers Jeff

If you want to join a local gps team sunshine Coast vikings are always looking for new members. Some of the team sail at the lake, golden Beach and Redcliffe. Also Winwanderers have learn to sail weekends.
