I think Caloundra may be a winner for you- flat water in the channel (Golden Beach), and wave action at the river bar and around corner at Neil Street. The whole Sunshine Coast region is great fun for sailing. I'm heading back up that way again (staying in Noosa) for two weeks in September- great time of year, plenty of options if you don't mind driving around a bit.

thanks phil
i sailed there a lot back in the 90s. what is the local shop called?
I've only been up there once in Sept, and it was a mix of winds, with nor-east most common.
As for rubber, I wore a spring-suit but was too hot most off the time. Board shorts and rashy no problems. Have fun mate.
Hey Phil, are you going to Lake Cootharaba again this year? Hopefully the NE winds will be favourable...warmer conditions assured. Can't imagine how you guys sail in those colder southern waters.
Yeah, all keen to hit Cootharabah and Weyba (and Golden Beach, Noosa Bar, Neil St, Cotton Tree,,,,etc..lol) Gunna be a busy 2 weeks! Say hi if you spot me, keen have some company on the water
Yuppy said.. Anyone suggest Gold Coast? Or is caloundra the best?
I have heard others on this forum mentioning a few spots on the Broadwater. I have never sailed there though. I would think that there is more boats and jet skis out compared to the sunny coast. Should be good in both locations depending on wind.
