Fantastic news and congratulations to those who put in the effort to lobby for the change, also hats off to the officials who saw logic and turned their decision around. It would be nice if both windsurfing and kitesurfing could both be at Rio but this can be decided in the future. The challenge now will be for the Rio hopefuls to put this all behind them and reignight their focus for gold.

I thought proposal 051-12 was a good one myself with "Mixed (Two Person) Kiteboarding" as one class and "Mixed (Two Person) Windsurfing – RS:X" as the other, to showcase both classes. Hopefully next Olympics, both can be there.
Yeah this was the light wind day when it was like it was 25-30 the day before when the racing was cancelled it was 30+ consistently and we went training and kinda got a little stuck in a 45+knot squall 2 Kms upwind of where we started from.
But to be honest am really happy to be back on the board again and have some really good racing with my new training partner Pat Vos.
Good to hear that they got the RSX back into this event in time. You have to hand it to the organisers.
