Hey

Im moving up to the gold coast from melbourne soon.
Looking forward to getting on the water there as soon as possible!
Where are the typical windsurfing places there? Ill be living near griffith uni, so centered around there.
Type of place, wind range and direction, speed sailing/wave sailing etc

Cheers!
Jake

Search for following on Google Maps

- Bump and Jump: Shearwater Avenue, Runaway Bay
Best on outgoing tide and SE (like this afternoon)

- Flatwater: North Street, Southport
AKA "The Train". Works best on NE seabreeze and not high tide so sandbanks are exposed

- Waves: Currumbin
SE is classic
(I'm new to waves so I like it on N/NE and high tide)

There are a few others, but they are by far the most popular.
Windwanders is a social club that meets up every once-in-a-while for a sail and BBQ. They have put together a nice location map here:

(you can click on place name on the map for more info)
