for me today it happened.

forgive me kruza as it has been 4 months since my last formula.

in that time i have ridden many thinner models.
some with better curves and others with prettier features.

today i realized the error in my ways and jumped on the bigger model!

The wheels are in motion to make QLD a strong Formula state.
God knows there is some of the best talent in Australia based there....

More as the story develops, but it will be very soon....

In the meantime, if anyone is interested in racing formula next season in QLD could you shoot me an email to seanobrien[at]aus120.com. Doesn't matter if you are just starting out or even never set foot on one and just want to find out about it.

In the March Windsurf, Jamie Hawkins touchs on this from an international perspective. It may have filtered down as a result, but I suspect the outrageous cost and the need to continually update equipment would be the main contributing reason.

Additionally the manufactures are now making wide slalom boards that reach in as little wind as a Formula. The fin length can also be a problem in some locations.

Unless you are dead keen on tearing upwind and straight back down again in a race the alternative is a lot more appealing. Well at least for lazy sailors like me it is.
