Anyone thinking about hitting some waves on the Goldie tomorrow if this forecast comes good? Any location recommendations?

I tried Cudgen the other day and it was a great spot for a NEaster, all the locals were there so it has to be pretty good. I also think that anywhere around main beach would be good. I'll see if I can get out of a kiddies event and join you.

Currumbin might be ok if it gets to true SE. 11-2pm

Double check the forecast Scot, S/SE. Main beach will be cross-on, which is ok if thats what you are looking for.

Currumbin was a lot of fun on Wednesday, I doubt the swell will be anywhere near as good, but if it come through there are a few nice banks.

Haha cool, lets do it, bring your wave gear. I checked it out on google maps, might be a bit too offshore .

Hey Scot, I'll be keen to hit main beach, cross on would be fun for jumping. Maybe even consider further down at mermaid beach, might be a bit more side shore. I'll bring the big kit anyway, so if I'm not powered on wave kit I can always go do spinz at KFC.

Am hesitant to drive down to currumbin, forecast doesn't look like there is enough east in it, and I'm not interested in float/ride/swim.

Sorry mate, had to stay local. Same for today as well. The good thing is that when it is blowing this hard it's great sailing in the bay. Had some mad port tack jumps yesterday despite the southerly direction. When I went out at 11 the ramps were actually better in the way back in (port) than in the way out (starboard). Simon said by the time he got there the starboard ramps were good.

Don't worry you didn't miss much. main beach was a mess. Snapped my 370 mast I think on the 4th run, oops haha, just above the mast thou so luckily didn't trash the sail. Ended up going out again on the 5.3, but was a bit overpowered and not much fun, so went and did some freestyle in the broadwater.

Might go check Wello today, can use my 4.7 I don't think unless I do some kinda hybrid 370top+400bottom mast hrmmm

Ouch, at least you had another option so you could get out again. The bay was awesome on Sat but I got there a bit late on Sunday and it was a bit patchy.

The alley was fun on Saturday, not much in the way of waves as they were breaking a long way in. Heaps of wind out the back, I was well cooked on my 5.3 and reckon I could have gone smaller out there.

Manly looked really good in those photos, looked really flat on the inside, was there much wind on the inside? I was thinking maybe if there wasn't enough east in it it might be a bit gusty.

I sailed shearwater sunday thou for a change, was good fun. Headbutting the sand in ankle deep water is a bit dopey thou haha, neck still hurts, will have to work on that. It's almost cheaper on fuel for me to go to shearwater, plus highway drive is a bit more relaxing. Good to mix it up anyway!

Simon's sorting me out with a warranty replacement so all good. Unfortunately I bought the only 370 in the shop, so might have to wait a little.
