Anyone going to VP today?
Gestalt suggests that this would be the place to re-learn how to windsurf
so i thought seeing as I didn't take my gear to the Windwanders bash yesterday, i might have a go today, wind seems to be coming form the correct direction, not too strong, apart from being low tide late morning but it should be coming in meaning less distance to walk when I'm stuffed later on.
Cheers Guy
Well after not sailing for about 18 months, I finally got back on the water today![]()
Another sailor said he was getting a fairly consistent reading of 18knots, so I thought the 4.7 would be about the right size for me, so I rigged that and tried the 85L F2 axis that I've had for several years but never used
The wind was fluctuating a bit but suited me - must say I didn't last too long.
Went quite well until I hit the anchor rope of that sailing boat which is moored there, didn't damage the board at all - thank goodness, but am going to have a great bruise on my shin. The golf ball lump is slowly subsiding. Funny thing is I saw the rope, but as it was a long way in front of the boat it didn't register that it was the anchor line. God knows where the anchor is, wouldn't want to jump off and land on it.
Good day out.
Anyway quite a nice place to sail, there were a reasonable number out
Probably find it's a mooring mate, normally a drum sunk into the mud and filled with concrete or something similar. Something else to be careful of especially after heaps of rain is the boats sink and can't easily be seen.
Great to hear you had a good time otherwise, just gotta keep it up now ![]()
