Cootharaba is easy and good fun, but give the riverheads a shot if you want some small waves or bumpnjump once you get over the bar. iIncoming tide in the arvo so quite safe you can launch on the front beach too if you don't mind lugging your gear a few kiters to negotiate but the majority tend to stay in the channel or on the bar. gunna be a magic coupla days wherever you go sailing!! cheers
I think I sailed at the river heads once before, it looks like kiters own the place but It didnt bother me. I launched off the rocks on some smalls steps by the parking in the river mouth. I wasnt sure if we could launch from the beach or not because of the swimmers. I don't mind carting all my stuff its worth it.
Had the place pretty much to myself yesterday, the kiters don't like the incoming tide & is shallow enought to launch right next to the car park..just got to negotiate a few sand bars. did mange to break a mast though which I cld have done without
got a good couple a hours in though and back for more today...hoping to get the small board out.
Cool, will be there Saturday. I'll be on a 4.2 neil pryde grind, with jp 78l again! lol, havent used a bigger sail since I been back. Sailed about four times already.. the pros of been lightweight! How is the wave at noosa? Is it port tack or starboard on the way out?
It's port tack from the main beach, seriuosly thinkin about sailing mooloolaba or mudjimba tomorrow tho as more wind down that way today if you believe the graphs & can only sail in the morning tomorrow....will see whta the morning brings!
