Im heading up to the lake for the weekend of the 4th and 5th of May for some relaxing beginner fun.
I'm camping at Elander Point and will be sailing from there due to some races happening up at the Sailing club.
Any beginner that wants some extra help or just to get out and have some fun with others newbies your more than welcome to catch up and join in.
There is a few of us heading up that I know of already. We are in various stages of learning from complete beginner to intermediate / advanced beginner.
Im hoping to get a couple of experienced Windsurfers to join in for some help in rigging techniques and sailing techniques.
Sounds like a great idea. I will try and make it up for one of the days and am happy to help out with advice. I also know of a few newbies that I have taught recently who I will pass this onto I'm sure they will be interested. The lake is such a great place for all levels of windsurfers.
Lake Cootharaba Mate. look up Boreen point. Take the Bruce Highway to the Pomona exit (quicker than going through noosa) and follow the signs. Turn left when you get to the fuel station in Pomona. Then turn right about 1km down the road onto Louis Bazzo Drive, give the car a good burn around the corners and you'll be at the lake in 5 minutes!
FAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRK. Looks like I will only be able to attend for the Saturday only. I have just been re-informed that I have a family engagement in Mooloolaba that weekend.
Sorry all. I will definitely try to get there on that Saturday though.
Hey all, 2 weeks to go till I will be up at Lake Cootharaba for some beginner fun and also some vintage sailing fun from Elanda Point. I have some really good Mates lined up that are very experienced Windsurfers in both old (Vintage) and Modern / New gear, to help out.
Unfortunately I can now only be up there for the Saturday (4th May) as I have previous family commitments to attend to on the Sunday.
Any newbies that are interested the address is:

One week to go,
Anyone that is interested is more than welcome to turn up and have a sail. The winds are looking nice and light, good for learning how to sail in.
Bring ya old or new boards. There will be someone there with knowledge and experience that will be able to help out with setting up and sailing, and any general information you would like to know about the sport.
Seeyas there.
Cheers
Damien
