Sorry Gestalt change of plan and I can't make it. Apparantly Mothers Day is actually "Mothers Weekend". I have put forward the "but I've got a new board" argument and might be able to manage a late one at the Train on Sunday.
Happy sailing
thanks for the response Gestalt. I normally sail at Manly, (close to my house). got a 140L board, weigh 84kg, and got 5.7 and 6.6 sails. manly is not too bad at low tide, I heard Wello point is worse.
Might try Victoria point sometime...when the wind comes back! (I reckon I need at least 17knots to plane)
Anyone for VP this weekend?
Not sure if the SE will be in by lunchtime for high tide, Sun & Mon look OK.
I'll keep an eye on the Obs, haven't had a sail in ages -want to test out the old joints
Ended up going to VP, got on the water about 12:30pm and fussed about in low wind. Left about 2:30pm and looked like it was just starting to come up. Oh well, at least I got some salt water up my nose - my fix for the w'end! Better luck tomorrow (Misses away so have three days to check it all out!)
Was just there m'self. Got on the water about 4. Rigged a 6.5 on a 75 wide board and was under-powered to start with but it filled in. I doubt that it got over 16 knots though. Nice just the same.
There were 4 kites out there and one other sailboard. The kitys had just come up from Melbourne for the long w/e - a long way to go for some wind and warm water.
got an hour or so of pretty good wind here on gc.![]()
are you guys heading back to vp tomorrow? thinking of heading there myself
was definately a good day. ![]()
