Thanks boys, today I continued my quest.
Amazing what a little knowledge can do.
Also using the slightly wider bombora gave me much more time on water today.
Even though it was very light breeze, using that guycribb style, I was acutally able to go upwind loads better. Pointing high and maintaining it.
Just slowing down and really thinking about what I was trying to do made a big difference...guess that helps when you're not hanging on for survival in heavy wind!
In the end the tide got me today, too shallow to keep going, but roll on next w/e.

Awesome !!
So, where did you go ?
You mention tide and getting too shallow, so I'm guessing somewhere on a run-out tide on a southerly ?
Glad someone is getting good sailing in at present.

Hi KenHo,
Sandstone point again, my fav spot for now, great for learning.
No tidal pull at all, just running out of water after about 3hrs from hightide.
Had to stop when the fin starts leaving tracks in the weed!
Couldnt believe it, not 10min after stopping the breeze picks up.
"good sailing" - yyes it's all relevant to what we want to achieve...

Ha, get used to stuff like that !!
Conditions are all about relevance to what you are doing. People forget that sometimes, and think only their ideal conditions are ideal. I'm cursed with a long memory, and though it's been a while, I recall well the whole learning curve.
