Forecast ain't great, but there is enough movement now to make me twitch.
Either I need to up my pills, or it's gonna blow today.
Which is it to be ????

I have to be at Robina at 4pm, so I'll be down in time to sail before that.

Any reason I should not buy a 5D II ??

stuff that annoys me but i knew the caveats:

it's slow to respond to a shutter press, like there's a lag - however; apparently it uses an optical switch so should never wear out unlike the 20/30/40/50d etc. there is no click

u really feel the mirror flipping, but it has a cool sound to it like a motor drive film

slow burst as gesty said

it uses a cmos sensor so reads a line at a time which causes slight warping of image during pans when taking video - rolling shutter effect

still only 3 exposure bracketing

no switchable lcd grid in viewfinder

still only 9 points af and only centre is cross type

i love everything else. amazing low light ability and beaut battery life

i will make a full day of kirra tomorrow

I suggest you up your pills for today and Sunday, work Monday,. Take a sicky Tuesday and drive to Burrum Heads. Low tide 2.30 pm @ 0.6. Wind about 19 to 21 knots SE. Have a sail. Drive home that night, and go to work Wednesday looking sick

Menna has a 7D, so frame rate is not an issue. This wil be the slow camera.
We've read about the rolling shutter effect. People were blaming different lenses, but there was not consensus on that. YOur explanation makes more sense. I believe the end result is pretty good though.
The other points you raise are interesting. I'll have to play with one. I like the idea of it feeling like a film camera. I am a Luddite, you know !!

Good day at Kirra today. Rigged a 5.8 as I was determined to have a small sail, used the Freestyle 98. Grovelling at first, but then it came in a bit and I was planing most of the time. Really nice conditions, clear warm water, no stingers, not a bad angle, got a few jumps on the nice banks at the south end of the run, towards the groyne.
Just me and Dave there. Long walk, but hey, people pay to do that on a treadmill, so it's a bonus in a way. All in all about a 7.5/10 and I'm smiling !!

Double pills it is. Not sure about the run to Burrum. BIt of a schlep from south of the border for 20kts. Now give me 30, and I'm in.

Not much here yet. Not tying myself to the idea of sailing today. Daydreaming about ski-ing at Whistler at present. Foolishly tried elsewhere this year. Won't make that mistake again.
Had a session learning to use Logic Express yesterday. That was fun. Need to play with that more.

Yeah, but I've had a bit to much time off work lately, and The Minister for Fashion and Chocolate has requested CPR for our business account.
Probably make Shearwater on Wed if the tide is OK.
Thinking about the WW thing on Saturday too.
