Notice will be up on web site by tomorrow, please make sure that you have your sail numbers on both sides of the sail
You can buy the numbers from Digital ink Ph 3390 6288 (mention bayside sailboards invoice 81419
Or you can cut your own out.
Do not put them back to back as in the sun the boat cant read them
see you there
Last years t-shirt was a cracker, so im expecting big things from this years design. I particularly like the use of the word "massive".
No pressure Tribey!
ps. can I get mine without sleeves?
I was simply tappering for the big event this weekend. This way If I manage to finish even 1 race I will be ahead.
As long as I beat Chris and Paul thats all that matters!
Bring it on!
Bom is showing 15-20 offshore. Perhaps a relocate to straddy?
Offshore racing, would have been possible last time I went deep sea fishing. We were blown off the water out there and yet there was nothing inside.
Crossing the bar would be a lot of fun on the race gear.
Big day tomorrow! cant wait!
ps. might be a bit early for a protest but what the hell, I notice Chris is still trying to get away with a sail number of Z7, clearly this is a major violation of several international yachting laws.
This matter needs to be addressed prior to tomorrows racing!
BOM is saying 15-20 NE early and a swing to SE later. Should we consider another early start?
As it stands I heard it was 11.30 sign on. Is that still the plan?
Oh and if it isn't too much bother, could Chris and Bart try and get out of bed for these races, it's barely worth going without the regular Bart the hitman Black V Chris the fitman Thompson showdown.
Time table for today
12.30 sign on
breifing 1.00pm
Hoping that the rain lifts by then and we get dome wind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all the bayside crew for all there hard work over the weekend. It takes a lot of planning and behind the scenes effort to pull this stuff together. You blokes are doing a great job!
Nothing any of us can do about the weather, looks like it has been a pretty crazy weather pattern over this area in the last 48hrs.
Also a big thanks to both boat crews today, without them these events just cant happen.
Looking forward to the Lake challenge already!
What Bart said. You guys always hold a great event, shirts, food, drinks, boats, crew, laminated start sequences. It has the lot. But if you ever cancel a race again after I beat Critchley there will be trouble...
Great weekend, yard work 0, sailing 2. That is a result in itself. And in my mind I still beat JC.
Mr Race Director, Thanks to all organizers for last weekend. Could you please provide results of the one race completed on Sunday as this will count towards remaining races for State Titles.
Also, as some of us are on holidays, when are the remaining races scheduled for?
Sorry Hooray but the notice of race was for an event on the 6th & 7th Feb. As the wind did not allow us to get enough races to constitute a series, the event was a non event.
A new notice of race has been issued for the state titles.
It could be said that the next race day is a continuation of the state titles and that any races that have been completed should be counted just my 2 bobs![]()
Hi Vando, Our race director has asked me to make this post so there is no confussion. Please note i'm not posting my personal opinions or wishes here just explaning the Racing rules under which we sail.
Technical issues - the importance of documention
Although not widely understood, the Notice of Race is one of the most important documents in sailing.
This is the contract between the organisers and the sailors as to what the races are, when they are to be held, what type of races will be run and what has to happen in order to get a result.
As per the Notice of Race Guide in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)the NOR must contain "the inclusive dates from measurement or the practice race until the final race or closing ceremony". These dates cannot be amended ad hoc or extended after the event. The event either happens within the time frame i.e the full complement of races is completed or the minimum number of races required to 'constitute a series' is completed, or there is no event.
I hope this helps. Any further queries should be directed to the commitee at the next meeting.
Interesting - the intrigue of the NOR, SI and their importance!
The SI is published on the website. Also on the website is a NOR for the Waterloo Cup; NOR for State Titles ... - am I missing something? If the NOR for the Waterloo Cup is used, the RRS Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR) 2009-2012 apply.
WCR: Rule A1 Number of Races -The number of races scheduled and the number required to be completed to constitute a series shall be stated in the sailing instructions. Was this an oversight in the SI by the Race Committee? I suppose this is why it is prudent to use the NOR & SI templates published by the ISAF -Appendix K & L.
I understand there was 1 valid race completed.
WCR: Rule A2 Series Score - Each board’s series score shall be the total of her race ... round scores with the number of her worst scores excluded as follows: ... slalom series 1-2 races; number excluded 0. I would suggest that this Rule in the absence of further clarification in the SI provides for a series with only 1 race sailed.
If I was the sailor that won that race, I would feel a little peeved! ![]()
Thanks John, using the templates is a good idea & something i will follow up on.
The sailing instructions on the web site specify 3 races will constitute a series.
Look forward to hearing from you at the next commitee meeting on how we can continue to improve our club.
