Thinking about doing the st Helena cup tomorrow on my raceboard. Will be starting at 11.30 with the cats. Not officially entering, start just outside the start line. Anybody keen to join in............
Just to let you know, we on the start boat thought you were fooling around, but we actually did record your time, will see if I can find it
I was I guess because I didn't officially enter. I completed the full course in 1hour 53 minutes starting with the cats. Had a wager against "cut snake", robby smashed me. Pretty disturbed air and choppy trying to come through all the mono hulls. Got hammered upwind compared to the fast cats, made up plenty on the downwind run home. Will enter officially next year if I'm allowed and there is wind.
I spoke to the head honcho's on Thursday night at the presentation they were surprised when I mentioned you racing. I dont know if you can officially enter but you never know, all you can do is try for next years race. Once the official entry form is loaded I would start putting in my application though, and I would see if you could organise a group they may take you a bit more seriously then.
Yer sweet.... The distance is easy, just need wind. Did the "great race" this year, started with the cats, made it to Coochie before hitting a sand bank and pulling my track out of my board.... Bit light between the islands..... Had my own rescue boat. May get a few of us next year and enter officially. What was the fastest mono time for interest?????
