I Sailed on a 60' tri around Sweden and Norway a few years ago and the week before I joined them they were in Oslo Harbour doing 30 odd knots when the limit was 6.... yep they got fined.
Also,I saw on you tube the other night one of the foiling moths in america doing a demo in harbour, they too were being harrased by the water police.
Hmmm, it is 6 knots all vessels in main channel near sea world, isn't it?
I have seen the police hanging around the seaworld end of the channel. Maybe checking we aren't causing too much trouble when crossing the main channel.
I've also seen them hanging around shearwater. Perhaps they confuse us with the kitesurfers who may be causing trouble there with some of the older boaties. It seems every time I go a kite gets caught on a buoy or a boat mast.
I rigged up at the grand once nearer the fish & chip shop and when walking back an old woman came up and gave me a big serve about how I couldn't sail there and how council had come down yesterday to tell people off, yada yada, used to wear an onion in my belt, which was the style at the time... etc. I guess some people get us confused with hanggliders, jet-skis and kitesurfers.
