That's about 1m of water going out, translates to about +4knots of virtual wind at its peak, I reckon. Shearwater itself adds + 20% to SE winds.

Do the maths.

Optimistic or what?

Depends. Can you get planing in 4kts ?

I'd be there if I could. My wind tree and whistling gutter say it's sailable. Tide just turning now.

was purdy good for most of it. guess it was effectively up to 20 at times shortly after mid day for about an hour. 15-20 for the rest minus the occasional holes?

Nice, we got zilch at redcliffe.

i went out on a starboard start

was great weather though. cruising around you could still see the bottom 200m from shore.

Cruising can make for a very nice afternoon. I do it over summer a bit. Cruise down from Shearwater to Labrador for fish & chips, cruise back.
