Unbelievable session!

Blew my mast base open like a tin can, had to rig a limp home system to get back in, 2 hours plus of smoking hot wind!

Punched a hole in my jp thruster while it is getting repaired the crew at Surffx have spotted me a loaner, thanks guys! Oh did I mention Surffx? Cheers.

Yeah, that was windy. 5m strung like a banjo and still over powered. In the end the rain on the eyeballs with 35knts lost its shine. Good session.

After listening to Ben Severne I dropped my boom in the high winds, I was using a 5.3 Naish Force, it really helped with control, I normally raise boom in stronger winds for more leverage (?) but found by lowering it allowed for more twist off, and made the sail quite manageable but dang it blew!

Again this afternoon?

(I've only got a 5.4 in the car. Might need to go home for something smaller )

you'll be right Panda- It's dropped to a measly 30 knots now

had a great sail yesterday- was strong enough to sail right across and gybe on the flat water at the beach of South Straddie. Great chop lining up on the way back!

Actually I've noticed that boom height is way more critical than I thought. Had it 2cm too low one day, everything felt a bit schit, fixed it, and then either suddenly the conditions got a lot better or that one little thing was having a compound effect all through the system. Suddenly everything felt just right.
