Just a thank you to ScottF and the others who helped me today.
Sailing at wello out past last marker and broke the pin on my mast base.
Board went one way and I and sail went the other.

I couldn't catch the board as their was quite a current.
Scott F helped me recover the baord and sail.
I was trying to tie the sail to the board with a bit of spare rope I had on the boom when a couple of Jet Skiers showed up and offered to Toe me in.
Thanks to them I got back to shore.
Thanks also to the other sailor who aasked how I Was.

Glad you are ok Kev.
That little voice in the back of my mind when out the back is eased when other sailors are around. Great to hear the support was there for you.

It's a bit like fishing. When the pressure is on, it's always the $1 component that fails no matter how much your main gear is worth.

Good to hear you got your gear back too.....

Dan.

What type of universal joint was it? Sounds like a Euro-pin?

Thats the thing about that location you can easily find yourself alone and as much as you have faith in you ability you never know(really) when something will fail.Booms are my achillies heal followed by masts now i have said that i will keep an eye on the universal.

It was a Euro pin on my mast base.

I Recently changed the tendon and will be changing the pin on a more regular basis or the whole assemnbly.

I didn't realise they require replacement.
