Well we are heading back to Wello with a promising forecast for sou-easters.

Please review the notice of race http://www.baysidesailboards.com.au/notice/roundfive.pdf

This season we have seen the growth of our sport with more than 10 new racers for the season - some of these guys have only started windsurfing in the last 2 years. The quality of sailing is getting better each event with more and more sailors turning out to race.

So if you have never experienced the thrill of slalom and you are interested in what it is all about then come along. You only need to bring a bouyancy vest, or one can be supplied. Please contact the club if you need a bouyancy vest info@baysidesailboards.com.au

good luck to all.

I see the 'Notice of Race' says 2nd Feb (which is a Monday), I assume this will be 1st Feb (Sunday). I haven't entered previously and will probably come down to watch.
Cheers.

Yes, Sunday it is - though being forced to take the day off on Monday to go racing would be fine by me

The 'rookie' class is a great starter - it got me hooked at the start of the season, then you move up as you improve. Great fun, and a great way to improve your sailing - mine has come along a lot in just the last couple of months.

Cheers,

More cracking racing for the Bayside Club this afternoon and another great turn out too, considering the marginal forecast.

Bad luck to Fyfie for mangling his kit in the first race.

Thanks heaps to Mikey and Hollie for running the committee boat and thanks also to Richard for the lend of committee boat in the first place.

If anyone is missing a black seat harness found after the event, drop in and see Boardcrazy to pick it up.

Also found a down haul stick....also with Si.

See you at the next one folks.

An excellent turn out considering what conditions started out like.

A huge thanks to Richard for the kind lend of his boat, and big raps for mikey and hollie for taking on the task of running the start. A great job for a pair of newbies. And great clubmanship on mike's behalf to give up his chance to race so that the rest of the members could.

Tough luck for club pres simon for blowing his boom early on, and even more credit to him for letting tim continue to use his back up (tim's boom went in rigging).

I must say we have raced at wello twice and have broken 2 masts and 3 booms.

Anyhow great day and look forward to seeing everyone at the lake in 2 weeks. Remember dinner at the pub on Saturday night to celebrate timbo's 40th. We have requested for the pool table to be leveled and the duke box be stocked with nothing this side of 1985
