pelican park i believe is where the locals go.

I sailed just in front of the Woody Point pier on Sunday (was pretty light). But you can get out anywhere on the Margate end of the Peninsula in a Westerly or S-Westerly.

Only drawback is it's much shallower there in a low tide than the frontside (ie, Suttons Beach, Queens, Scotts Pt etc).
