Hi
I am a Sail - Aholic
Its been 3 days 2hrs and 27minutes since my last sail
(Friday .. surf and wind and wavesailing ...worst of my addictive habits... nooooooooo! ...)

Seeking support from this group. I have stepped out from lurking and reading posts to regestering within the forum. Realising the lurking only supported my Addiction, not to mention the quicklinks to seabreeze, manufactures websites, shortcuts to dealers and other addictive like actions (web cams). I seek help
My addiction is serious and long (18yrs ago I bought my first board) and today I look at a quiver of broken and detroyed gear / used and empty sail bags, broken fin boxes and straps...my life is a mess..... etc etc etc

Today my addiction drives me manifest "sickee's", drives me to do any amounts of household duties just to support my addiction to sail when it blows, buy vehicles based on only the abilty to fit rediculous amount of gear inside them...... I am so ashamed

Thank you for your support ( and hello to all .. who share the same)

regards

climber (aka Graeme)

welcome climber,
doesn't it feel so much better to be out of the closet.
Bad news, there is no long term cure.

I have only this to look forward to (or )

3 days... waves... where where you on Friday? I was at Currumbin. Old blue KA sail. I was in water most of time, probably appeared drunk in comparison to the others (I need P plates).

Hi Evil Panda

Friday i was in NSW and drove back and managed 2 hrs at "The Pass" in Byron Bay.... all good 85ltr and 5.3 and very stretched at times on the sail size.

Cheers

PS If you need P plates you can have mine... I think i need to find my L plates again... so very sketchy after a big lay off in winter

yeah climber,
know how it feels,

my House - near the beach (and highways that get me to other beaches)
my Car - fits heaps of gear and worth far less $$$ than my gear, many hundreds of thoudands of k's on the clock from "the search", rusty from nuclear sea spray and wet gear, smells musty as my gear lives in it permantly
my Job - ceases to be relevent when it's windy, never have a 9-5 as I'd go insane on windy days
my Gal - better hurry up and learn as we'll be in Gnaraloo in Februrary!
my Body - suncream, knee brace, neurofin, tape up ocean sores, sore back, quick stretch lets go!!! broken ribs, perferated ear drums, dislocated knee...
my friends - all messed up sailing addicts too
my sleep - wake up 2am when really windy to check seabreeze on mobile
my Life - quit job, sell house, grab gal go to WA
my Family - hope (for their sake) it's not windy on Xmas day
my Money - enough to get me to the coast and back
my S#X - not this morning love, I'm going sailing!
my advice - give in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes yes yes life is good and it's better to regret things you did than things you didn't do!

Was reading that stretching before exercising actually weakens the muscle and causes more injury. They tested this on lab bunnies, how long it took to tear the muscle when stretched/not stretched (lovely eh? )

You should just warm up instead.

God, I'm bored at work.
Kirra tomorrow morning.

Now my mind is in over drive...how do you get a lab bunny to stretch...... and then tell you it hurts

What? You just grab hold of each end and pull. You don't need them to tell you it hurts unless you are a sadist.

Yeah. Kirra tomz.
I was thinking vaguely of driving up to Mooloolaba but Kirra is MUCH more convenient.

But what about Currumbin. Is that any good in a northerly?
