The first weekend in December has been set as the annual date for the Queensland Raceboard state tiles. This event will be held in conjunction with the annual Monomasters regatta at the Lake Cootharaba sailing club.

Because of the short notice for 2008, there will not be championship trophies issued this year but there will be prizes given for first Womens, Mens and juniors raceboard sailers.

The notice of race for the monomasters regatta on the 6th and 7th of December is available on the web site lcsc.org.au/ The equipment rules for international Raceboard class will apply.

Come and join the resurgence of longboard windsurfing. With the major brands now selling new models in the raceboard class, the time has come to get this event on again.

If you have an old raceboard sitting in your garage, why not bring it out and have a race. If you would like to sell your old raceboard, why not bring it along with a for sale sign. There will no doubt be some buyers at this event as well.

to formula racers who are interested in sailing at Monomasters regatta...

My reading of the raceboard class rules is that Formula boards comply with class rules. They are however limited to the 9.5m maximum sail size for men and 8.5m for women. So you could find it hard if the wind is too light.

If we have enough applicants for formula on the day, we can still change to a separate category with open sail size. Otherwise you will be welcome to sail in the raceboard class.

tony might need to check rules out a bit further, there is a minimum weight of 14 kilos and also min length of 2700 in race board , you would be better just offering a seperate class in the event , not both in together

We will aim to have a separate category if the interest is there.
