OK - so now that life is slowly returning back from massively hectic to moderately busy after the Wave Nats, its time to start looking at the next QFWA event. Initial thoughts are an "on-forecast" expression session at perhaps Neil St, Caloundra.
The aim of the day would be to touchbase on all things QFWA, signup some new members, give out members tees and have some unofficial competition in an expression session format - 1hr session and best 3 standouts take home prizes.
We are also looking for QLD Freewave Ambassadors - in Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast and northern NSW to help with the organisation of other on-forecast events in those areas. Shoot us a message if you are keen!
The latest news, images, updates, competition announcements and more will all be coming through the facebook page, so jump on and LIKE it now to stay in the loop!

Anyway - let us know your thoughts re event and any expressions of interest in regards to the QFWA ambassadors.
May the wind fill your sails!
Cheers
Will
Hey Will, sounds like a well earned break.
I'd be keen to help out with some events. I reckon it would be great to have some social events such as an intro to wavesailing or freestyle clinics, where you throw in a few $$ to cover a bbq on the day, and some of the more experience sailors can mentor people who are interested in starting into freestyle or wavesailing. I think something like that would be great to get more people together sailing waves and freestyle, just to get people motivated to progress as I find that I progress heaps faster if I'm sailing with others who have the same mindset.
Definitely sounds like there are a few people who are keen, especially to take their first steps into waves, and some juniors too (is there cheaper membership for juniors?). Would be good for club membership levels I think if some events like this were run, alongside the pure competitions. Maybe easier to arrange in terms of use of venue's and insurance etc as well?
Oh, and expression session sounds awesome too ![]()
