With a pretty promising looking forecast for Sunday, moves are afoot to run another "Expression Session" at Neil St. While no doubt a few of you (me included) aren't necessarily to keen to get back behind the wheel again, there's no denying the Goldy will be silly busy this weekend with the Pro Tour in town. At this stage the plan is to get a nice early start on proceedings, with the usual spot prizes up for grabs. Should be a great day out, hope too see you all there!
Was just thinking this, and it happened.. AMAZING!.
we'll have to keep and eye on it because it could turn really onshore with the forecasted rain.
an offical call should be made sunday AM i recon
hey guys this trough sitting off the coast is causing even more rain!
my prediciton is that itll keep raining like this for the next few days and be E, or ESE at best, which won't work at neill st.
the only option in an easterly is sailing the eastern end of mooloolabah beach. i sailed there last monday when all other beaches were 6ft+ and closed and there was a nice head high wave peeling around the groyne and the E wind was gusty, but cross off and it was a suuuper fun DTL session. i doubt itll work tomorrow though as the swell has dropped to about 3 ft on the open beaches so it wont make it into the bay.
we'll make a call at 10am tomorrow on here and on the QFWA facebook page whether the expression session will run.
Fingers crossed!
So that was fun! Wind was a bit up and down with the rain but the waves were solid with some mast high sets... it got better as the tide dropped and the bank on the inside was working great!
