Watch out where/how you park at Currumbin.
Parked on grass between road and car park.
If this is illegal, have been lucky for years not have been booked before when couldn't find a spot.
Although those areas are good for rigging if you find a spot on the tarmac nearby.
You have never been "allowed" to park on the grass at the Alley. Actually I can't think of anywhere on the Goldy where it is legal to mount a kerb and park on grass. If you got booked, you deserved it.
I politely (well maybe not) explained this to someone after they asked me to move my gear so they could park up there, they too said they had been doing it for years. I certainly wouldn't be real polite with any windsurfer that did. Grass is for rigging, children playing, hanging out etc.
Agree with Aus301.
It kills the grass, leaves oil stains for your to rig your precious sails on and generally clogs the whole place up. I have never been booked as I do the circuit till I find a park rather than just mount the curb somewhere. It is a hassle sometimes but that's life. I have seen them nail everyone several times over the years and I think the fine is about $90. Be careful as they will also give the same hefty fine for parking along the edge of the actual road lane opposite the open curved parking space where the buses stop. This one seems pretty harsh as no harm is being done.
