I'm planning my annual leave. It has to be at home this year so am looking at having leave in spring so I can get into those northerlies.

Any opinions on whether October or November would be best? I tend to think there isn't much to choose between them, but some long-time windsurfers might know better.

There's a chance I might not be able to get away 'till December. Would the best northerlies be starting to die off then?

November-

last year I logged about 15 sessions (the most sessions in one month for the whole year)in November for the GPSTC and the year before was also good.

El Nino is good for northerlies, but we are supposed to be coming out of that.
The northerlies re best in hot dry weather, obviously.
A big rain event can kill them dead.
Last year was so good, because of the protracted dry spell that preceded Xmas.
I'd go for October, as it's hot, but less chance that a significant rain will have fallen.
As noted, September can be very good with lots of fast moving cold fronts producing good NW and SE winds, as well as a chance of NE seabreezes.

was just looking at the wind data for Coolly for October for last year, quite weighted towards the notherlies.

if they do happen to come through again this year, what are some of the prime wave spots on the gold coast for that direction?? what's the Neck like in a Nthly?

just back from Maui... trying to pretend to myself I'm not!

Currumbin is good in northerlies.
Kirra for nor-westerlies.
