Spoke to our race director today about a bit of a social/race marathon on Monday arvo. Looks like the wind might be OK and what better way to spend a public holiday.
We have been a bit jinxed for wind, maybe a social bay race might work in our favour! If we put boats in the water and set a course we will be doomed for sure!
This would just be a bit of fun with your mates.
Don't forget to wear your lime green boardies so the coast guard can spot you easily heading out past Nth Straddie. ![]()
Barts boardies could be the prize !!! In the 1st annual,"Black Barts Boardshorts Bayside Bout" !!!
...(cleaned and mounted in a trophy case)
I'm waiting patiently for our race director to "chart a course". I would definately be happy with either a Manly or Wynnum start depending on tides.
I've been doing some secret upwind training so i should be able to at least make it back around a reaching course.
Chris tells me he is also in, so no matter what there will be a sledging dog fight at the back of the pack.
I quite like the idea of first prize being a pair of bright fluro boardies, bit like the yellow jersey in the tour.
The wind still looks good for Monday arvo, low tide rules our Wynnum, I think it would have to be Manly, maybe we meet around 12 -1???
Just a bit of fun.
Massive turnout today of 2 sailors! Brad and I had a ball blasting around the islands. Fantastic day.
I think this means I get to keep my green shorts!
strangely enough, the wind the wind didnt get up till Bart got out of the water, 2.30pm.
...(it was also the turn of the tide)..The rest of us enjoyed a good and more consistant breeze till 5.00pm.![]()
There was some good breeze once you got out a bit, seemed to be better up in behind wello and out past king.
I was the guy (who can't jibe) crusing around on the big Ozone kite and the directional course Racing board today.
