No, but I'll be at Currumbin this arvo, at 1630 Qld or so. The sailing there has been excellent, and it's already nearly 20 kts.

Wheres a great place i could go to practice carve and duck gybes?
I'll be going between 1500-1900
Usually i would just go straight to wellington Point because its easy.
But yeah i feel like going somewhere different.

Scully, head to the "train" which is on the Broadwater at the end of North Street (North is a continuation of Smith Street). Sand bottom and blue water compared to Wello.

Note, it's called "the Train" cos there is a steam train painted on the dunny block there. It's pretty much the only flat water sailing on the Goldie, I think.

It is called the train becasue there was once a steam locomotove in the park right next to said dunny block. That has since gone and Ken is right there is now the mural on the dunny block.

You can also sail inside Currumbin estuary on a northerly. You sail right inside on the leeward side of the sand bank. Best access is via the dirt track that runs behind the PBC High tennis courts. The runs are very short, but the water is really clean and usually very flat behind the bank, which can make it a nice place to get those gybes all sorted. I remmeber sailing in there when I was about 16 or 17 at night, using the lights of the old pub that used to be on the hill to see across the water.

I had a great sail at Nudgee Beach today. Able to sail all the way round to Sandgate. Great jumps on the way and consistent wind. Sandy bottom waist to chest deep for about 200m from shore. Only good on a full tide (unless you like lugging your gear 200m!) anywhere from N to E. Also grass to rig on.

Post a reply or PM me. Just having lunch now.
Miami will have big southerly sweep. Just came back from a swim at Narrowneck.

*edit: You've probably already left. See you/nobody there.

Meh, bit time-poor today. Train for gybe practise. Next time (I'm free December through ???).
