Just got home after a big day out. It started at 2pm Thursday when we boarded a flight to Maui and is just ending after a day of spectacular 4.5 sailing on the crystal clear waters of Sprecklesville Beach, kabana on the bbq and a crap load of US rum (also crap).
Viva la figa.
Started with 12 hour plane flight. 4.7 at lunch down to 4.5 for the arvo with a corona or 2 in betweeen. And a late 4.5 sail before burgers at the beach.
Beers taste good - long live costco.
Viva la figa
woke up 11am had sex with a super model, sailed on a 5m on crystal clear flat water with huge waves, relaxed with cocktails , then I really woke up and went to work.........................![]()
I knew I could count on you Richiefish. I am hoping to get some helmet cam footage before we leave. It is really awesome here and I am really having to pinch myself to beleive that I am actually here.
I was setting up yesterday Matt Prichard came by. He's a really cool guy and way unlike most celeb's you might meet. The girls on the beach are also a very big benefit and they seem to wear a lot less than the ones (if any) on the foreshore of Manly.
Will keep you up to date with any new news over the next 10 days.
Cheers,
Been back from maui a week but sailed 4 times on the Gold Coast since returning, the thing about Maui they say 15mph and its always closer to 25knts,as much as i loved it i was a little dispointed in the quality, range and availablility of gear, tried pryde, naish and starboard.
helmet cam me some beach bunnies Scotty !!! All we've had on the foreshore at Manly is a bus load of senior Japanese tourists in blue tracksuits...![]()
Scotty
Can you inform the birthday boy that my flight departs Sydney 9:00pm Sunday and i will arrive at Kahului at 3:10pm Maui time. If If you have forgotten anything from oz ( like mearsy's box of skin mags ) then now is the time to let me know.
Day 2
4.7 with a real whinge when couldn't be stuffed changing up to 5.0 - beer-o-clock came earlier today.
Richie we are going to try and sort a helmet cam - hope to have some babes for ya.
Sonic - mate sorry but this place does not deserve a complaint - we are lucky being hooked up with Matt prichard and the guys at naish - so really sweet deals on tabou, naish, gaastra and quattro. Plenty of gear between 12 of us we have some 36 rigs and 12 boards to choose from - and if we don't like it we change.
And staying on the beach at sprecks - this place rocks.
Richie, pull up anchor and sail over here.
Got a bit slack with the daily log, by the time we were getting back to the house we were well tanked and mighty tired from the days sailing. Needless to say we had a ball and were less than impressed when we had to leave. The last day it was 35 knots and I was well, well overpowered on a 4.5.
Two of the guys broke ribs and had to pull up short but we all had one of the best trips a windsurfer could wish for. Hopefully there will be some photo's on the way and perhaps some video of the stack of the trip.
I would highly recommend Maui as a winter escape. My hint for lasting the distance is a tube of superglue. It was invaluable as a sacrificial layer on worn out fingers and bogged up a few blisters as well.
good old superglue! ![]()
Toluene diisocyanates are reasonably anticipated to be human
carcinogens based on sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in
experimental animals (NTP 1986, IARC 1986, 1987, 1999). When
administered by gavage in corn oil, commercial-grade toluene
diisocyanate (analyzed as 85% 2,4-isomer and 15% 2,6-isomer)
induced hemangiomas in the spleen and subcutaneous tissues,
hepatocellular adenomas, and hemangiosarcomas in the liver, ovaries,
and peritoneum in female mice; subcutaneous fibromas and
fibrosarcomas and pancreatic acinar cell adenomas in male rats; and
neoplastic nodules of the liver, pancreatic acinar cell adenomas,
mammary gland fibroadenomas, and subcutaneous fibromas and
fibrosarcomas in female rats.
had 4 weeks maui booked... but had to cancel last minute... now looking at a week in FNQ just for holiday... not quite the same...
Glad at least some people managed to get over there and have some fun.
