The countdown is on for the Matt Pritchard Windsurfing Clinic this weekend. Can't wait, had a sneak preview of the format and it is going to be full on. I hope the wind prediction holds and the rain clears.

There is a wishlist - three things you come away with. Mine are-

1. Learn to tack properly

2. Forward loop (I really hope the NE holds or if I have to try starboard loops again it will end in tears)

3. Make full planing jybes every time even in light winds.

I would prefer to rub a magic bottle than have Matt kick my butt for three days but who better to school this old dog than him.

Keen to hear what others would have on their list.

1. Improve my sledging technique.
2. How to look cool in a seat harness.
3. Workshop excuses for not being a work when the wind is blowing.

Maybe dropping those lime green boardies off at vinnies would be a start.
(I've got the sledging bit sorted out and my boss doesn't need any excuse for me to go sailing)

After 3 days at this clinic sausage you'll only ever see the back of those green shorts as I leave you in my dust!

p.s. when are you coming down to vegas for a sail?

Is this still on at Queens? What are the days? So local sailors can make adjustments for the sudden influx of clinic crazed, laydown gybing, forward loopers to their home break.

1. Gybing
2. Tacking
3. Getting in the footstraps without wobbling all over the place
4. Pumping the sail
5. Planning early
6. Planning through lulls

Then once I have the hang of the above:
7. Jumping
8. Helicopter tacks
9. Duck gybes
10. Carve gybes
11. Upwind 360s
12. etc, etc, etc

hi guys,

I'm loving the enthusiasm.

For any Queens locals - the clinic is friday, saturday and sunday. And there will be 30 odd sailors coming along. I was aiming to locate us up the northern end.
Thanks for your consideration.

See you all there.

Hey guys,
A little surprise that i thought i should post about.
Saturday, will give you the chance to check out some of the new tabou, gaastra gear
Sunday, you will get the chance to check out some of the new north and fanatic gear.

It seems the word got out and starboard / severne may be trying to crash our party, but that's Ok, i strongly suggest learning to loop on somebody else's kit

see you all

If anyone found them i'd love to get them back

knowing what the starboard guys have in the back of the truck, not sure you are going to find much light wind loop equipment there.

I got to ride a 77lt quad and 5.0 Severne S1 at the Corona last week (yes it was THAT windy) and loved every second of it. Some of the nicest kit I have sailed.

Crappy photo from Iphone. Good wind when I left. Looks like they were all having fun.
Watched Matt do jump gybe and tail other sailors with a head cam on. It had to be him as this sailor was plan gybing going off wind to the rock and then upwind at insane angles.

The guy with the helmet cam was Matt Pritchard. His form on the water is pretty amazing alright. The clinic so far has been excellent. The wind has been up and down, which has actually worked out really well, as the on land demo's can all be done in the lulls and then when it does pipe in you go out and forget everything you just learnt.

Queens beach has been a cracker of a spot, nice to ditch the booties for a few days!

ps best mid air bailout award goes to tribey!
