Hi all

I wonder if any beginners or post-beginners in Brisbane would like to practise windsurfing skills together.
The spots I tried to windsurf are Sandgate, Wello, Manly, the beach near Central St/Marine Parade in Gold coast.

I know heaps of people windsurf in Wello but they seem very experienced and I think they are not interested going with beginners.

Sometimes I dare not try alone when it is windy or wavy and when there's no any windsurfers on water.
I think it would be more safe and more fun to have at least one mate to go together. I am not a complete beginner but I know fast tack and basic gybe. If you are interested, please leave me a message.

Hey Winddragon,

I'm more then willing to join you as are probably a handful of other that come out and sail down at Sandstone Point. We are all at various levels of learning and on all different types of boards. We usually sail out of Oxley Avenue at Sandstone Point which is a really good spot on a SE winds, nice flat water sailing even when blowing 20knts. Fairly shallow water as well unless you go way out in the bay.

Where are you located as that will also make it easier to find other beginners to sail with.

Hi deejay8204

That's nice. I am living in Brisbane South very close to Westfield Garden City. Will you go to sail on 26th? I will be visiting my friend at Strathpine on 25th and stay one night there so can join you people up there in Caboolture.

Have you tried Thompson beach Victoria Pt very good safe spot to learn you need high tide & a southerly as it then blows onshore.

No I haven't. Never been to Vic Pt. Thank you for your info.
I recognise your sail. I saw you on water in Wello the other day.

Hey Winddragon,

Sorry, I will be off the water for a couple of weeks with a recurring shoulder injury that has decided to come back as the best winds come in as usual.
Unfortunately I cant even help with a nut for the base either as I have just had to use my spare for the same reason as you. If I look carefully enough it may be in my backyard somewhere lol.

Come out and have a blast on the water down at Wello when Bayside races are on, someone there should be able to help you out before the races start, The next race is on the 5th January, I will be on the boat crew again.

Seeya on the water

Cheers Damien

Hi Winddragon

I tried Thompsons yesterday for the first time it was pretty good - bit of a walk to get out but not so far on the way back in as tide was coming in.
