Can anyone give me an update on how Linda is going with her recovery after the jetski accident? I haven't been able to find her number in my day book.
Just got off the phone to Linda - she had another operation two weeks ago to straighten the leg out a bit - she's recovering OK but reckons it still 'sticks' a bit so she's going to see the surgeon again - it's still a slow recovery though even for someone as fit as she is
I've pm'd you her number Scott
Thanks for the update 2rundave and the phone number, I'll give her a call tomorrow. Was hoping to hear she was back on the water not getting more operations. It must be driving her mad.
I just spoke to Linda and she was as bubbly and positive as ever despite this horrible disruption to her life. The good news is she is on her feet, albeit in a limited fashion and is swimming and stationary cycling in small doses.
She has just had some arthroscopic surgery to clear some more debris and arthritis from behind her knee and this has helped some more but there is another op required to stabilise her leg movement which is impeded by an incorrect healing in the bone fracture.
Unfortunately, added to all this is the fact that the insurance company who was covering the jet ski company has gone into receivership as they were tied into the Christchurch earthquake disaster so it looks as if the only recourse will be a civil suit? Just what she needed when she can't work and the medical costs are mounting.
She is still hopeful of getting back on a windsurfer in the future and as a group we all know how important that day will be so I wished her the best in this endeavour from us all.
I've asked that she keep us in the loop with any successes and achievements so we can track her recovery. I am very much looking forward to being there when she hits the water again.
