OK, so teh forecast is crap, but it's already blowing a bit here at the southern Goldie, so I'm thinking that there will be more than forecast. The actual wind seems to have exceeded the forecast a lot this year, esp on these hot northerlie days.
Train is too far for me mid-week, but I'll hit Currumbin at 2-3pm, and hopefully there will be something.
You're correct in thinking the NE predictions are "low-ball". It's nearly always windier, sometimes a lot windier.
Currumbin is, I think, usually best around 12, on a high tide.
It is high tide at around 12 tomorrow (Friday). See you there.
It will be the last day of my rather extended holidays, so hopefully a cracker. I'll be the one on probably purple&orange NP sail, the one fluffing every gybe/wallowing in the impact zone/being overtaken/having a great time. ![]()
Nothing today, got down trhere at 1430 qld, and it was dead calm.
so I drove up to Southjport to get pick up my quad, tehn went to teh Train, about 8-10 kts. enough to almost pump onto tyeh plane, but not quite.
I Finish earlier tomorrow, so will get to Currumbin around 12, seee you then, I'm in a white Vito van.
Sheesh, we'll be lucky if we get anything. Bom says 10-15.
Not sure how many weekends I've sailed last over the last three months, but not many, if any. Winter was a non event. Mid November - Mid December was really good.
Sigh.
i'm staying optomistic. feb march april i reckon will be windy.
swings and round abouts maybe this year winter will be good also for SEQ.
I'm actually liking these light wind days suddenly, easy to learn new things :D
Did me first boomerang 2day
Change of plans.
Moving house tomorrow, and the bride has indicated that my prescence is required today.
Her previous position of "everything is well in hand" has been revised to "oh, crap, removalists coming tomorrow".
However, the new JP Quad is now sfaely in my van.
