Fantastic pics. Incredible amount of power in the last shot. And we humans think we can generate electricity efficiently. We got no idea in comparison to that. Thanks for capturing the moment HC.

u r welcome. it's fun to try and get a good one. many of the big bolts ran right across the horizon instead of hitting ground. i've never really seen that before

I put my camera setting on that little lightning bolt logo but it never seems to work for me.

Haircut- they are some seriously good photos. you must have lightning reflexes.

they should turn pink in about 8 months

thanks again. yeah i'm using the lightning bolt mode too

it's about 15seconds open shutter at iso 160, and a lacky band holding a lego block against the shutter button on one camera and an intervalometer plugged into the other one. shot in raw so i can recover some of the overexposed bigger bolts of lightning. the rest is just manipulating the contrast / levels / curves etc in ya fave photo manipulation program. the pics look pretty bland straight out of the camera. it took about 100 photos to get 6 good ones

Love it!
Thanks Haircut. Was wondering how long your exposure was. I have tried before with limited results with lightning, you inspire me to try again and again until I get it.
Thanks again!

i think it's just atmospheric conditions? i used to think it was the camera picking a different white balance, but the last few times I've used the same preset white balance setting in both cameras and still got different results between storms, but the shots from both cameras look identical

I'm loving the colours HC.

Generally all my lightning shots end up with more blues.
