Curious to know if Lake Weyba is any good as a windsurfing location.
I have sailed at Maroochy, Caloundra, Noosa and Catharaba, but haven't heard anyone talk about Weyba.
I'm coming up to Peregian Beach later in the year and have kids keen to learn on some flat water.
Any feedback appreciated.

Yep, many hours on the lake.
Shallow, Windy and Gusts but really good and generally windiest place on the coast! SSHHHH !
Go to the Left hand side Car Park, (Noosa End) walk your gear rigth out past the point until the sand turns to mud, around waist deep, then a) your in the windline b) you know its deep enough...then blast out back towards peregian,(water tower) the further out you get the windier and more reliable the winds, sail right out to about 75-80% of the lake and Gybe..LONG runs...
DONT come in near the little rock groin, there are some hidden rocks near the end!
Now on way back, guess where to gybe!...leave it to late and to shallow and ...&*%$!!,
Works best SE-E can also work in SW and NE..
Bads- Shallow- murky water-Stinky mud that sticks- summer time water to warm and has nasty **** in it that makes sctatches go Ape **** bad!...Winter can get bloody cold water, can get boring after a while...
Goods, nice long safe runs, open to the wind, very chillaxing place..
Can tie dog and kids up to a tree in the shade...
Was quite the place in the Day...Often kited these days by kiters afraid of waves, the shops encourage it there as heaps end up with their kites in the trees...ching ching! another sale!
Have fun....
And Cootharaba similar but further drive, bigger deeper lake, and bigger chop, great place...Coolum for SE wavesailing, Mudjimba S-SE Wave sailing
