Thought I would get an early date saver out for the weekend 25/26 February. Bayside sailboards will be running slalom races on the Sunday. This is a great opportunity to pack up the family and head up the lake for a weekend. All sailors are welcome, we have classes that cover all levels.

Accomodation is easy, you can either camp or hire a house with a group of friends.

Saturday night we normally organise a dinner up at the local pub, again which is very family friendly. Amazing prizes (usually some of Charlies honey!)

If the the wind is light we can run kids classes or if we are lucky Julie might agree to take a SUP paddle class.

You have not lived until you have had a night sail on the lake! Usually nude! Certainly gives the local prawn fisherman a bit of a fright. Maybe we should organise some night time tow-in freestyle sailing, pretty sure some of you would be up for that. Not so sure the locals would be all that impressed. Nude night sailing is far more practical.

I didn't understand a word of that second post, have you been taking elocution lessons from Farley again?
Anyway, whatever you were talking about, I'm in!

Just spoke to the missus and we are on. I reckon Timbo will understand exactly what you are saying once he's had a few black cordials. A nude sail will be tame after some of the dance moves he has been seen doing on previous lake trips.

It has always been a good trip in the past and hopefully some Northern sailors will be able to come along and get a taste of Bayside racing. There is normally a massive advantage to turning up on the Sunday because everyone who stays is well hungover for the race.

We used to be called "Bayside Nude Sailboard Club" but due to legal complications and copyright laws, we had to drop the "Nude".(and wear boardies at day time.)

As one of the founding committee members of the club, I must clarify this. We ceased a lot of nude sailing as there was complaints about catching the tackle in the webbing of the seat harness.

I believe in Bart's case he is just hardcore and likes it leathery and rough, and richie well he's up for almost anything and wears a waist harness.... hence no tackle injuries. Scotf well he's just disturbed, and when he invites you back for a rum...... well you have been warned

In all seriousness the lake trips are absolutely fantastic. They are only impaired if it gets windy, whilst one is in the throws of regretting the night before

Had a nudie sail at dawn today, a little bit north of the lake. Big trouble though, 7 seagulls and 1 pelican landed on my perch.

Going to the Lake tomorrrow for 4 days, will try a night sail with different birds.

I assume all of them were standing one top of each other with the bottom one standing precariously on one leg

3 weeks to go, get your crew together and either book a house or pitch the tent! I have checked the long range weather forecast and we are 100% guaranteed to get either strong wind or a strong hangover. Potentially both.

All set .
Which camp site do you usually stay at?
Do you have to book a camp site in advance or is there enough room to just turn up on the Sat.

"How flat does the lake stay"

bit of a tough one, different parts of the lake seem to get more chop than others, right over the other side can really glass off and is great for speed runs.

It is normally pretty choppy once it gets over 20 knots. Just good fun!
