Firstly let me say, what an epic day at wello! Whilst I was out however the fence on the western side of the car park adjacent to the rigging area blew over.... onto my car!! I thought something was up when I was dragging my gear back and I saw the workers holding the fence up so it didn't blow over again. They were a little coy when I approached my car and didn't mention anything about the damage. It wasn't until I reversed away from the fence that I noticed the damage to my bonnet. The site manager admitted liability and hopefully it will be sorted out through their insurance. I will find out on Monday. I would really appreciate anyone who witnessed the event to contact me on 0403620123. Even though they have admitted fault they may try to squirm their way out of it. If I can tell them I have names of witnesses I'm sure it will help my case.
Apart from this. Be very wary parking next to any temporary fences when it is REALLY windy and if the company concerned puts further restrictions on the parking next to the rigging area at Wello you will know why.
Thanks, Andrew
Hey Andrew, Feel sorry for you mate. I saw your demolished car, but not how the fence was touching it. However, the guy from the kite- and windsurf-school may help. He saw it. I'm pretty sure someone in this forum knows his webpage.
Gday Andrew,
Im a local kiter and one of the boys said this arvo he has a photo (not sure how good) of the guys holding the fence up after it blew over..... it hit his car too but no damage apparently.
I don't have his number but can get it if you need it. Just shoot me a P.M

Hi Andrew
I am the guy with the wind & kite school at wello today. Everything was witnessed by myself and a number of my team riders today, so unless the council finds a way to blame it on the wind, I dont think they can get out of this one! Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance. Details:

i was parked there too, and didn't even bother looking at the front. going to check my car now it appears the fence falling onto the car has caused excessive stone chips, oil leaks and a noisy diff![]()
sorry to hear about car too andrew. sounds like you got plenty of eye witnesses to help out though ![]()
was fantastic day apart from that
Thanks a lot guys. Hopefully I wont need witnesses but its just nice to have a few up your sleeve if required. Did I mention what an awesome sail yesterday was
