Saturday:
A big, outgoing tide running against a weak 10knot SE... perhaps add 4 knots of tidal current, a bit of luck might be 12 knot SE wind... maybe sailable?
with the big out going tide combined with the rainfall runoff - shearwater has been moving very quickly the last couple of days
I agree probably 4 knts however the closer the seaway the faster and more powerfull it becomes.Do you ask from a safety point of view or are you aiming to get a little more out of the wind?
with an easterly i recken you'd go really quick one way, and damned slooo the other
