Hey Justin guess where the wind was today. Me and Pete had a phat time. I think you might know the spot.
No, no secret. Just reminding gesty what its like where he used to sail. South end of Bribie/Bongaree, where the wreck used to be. The wind funnels into it. Nice big full waves(easy for me) in the channel and shallow and flat for long way out the back. Awsome spot.
Take fist right after Bongaree Jetty(South Esp) and go all the way to the end. There is a small car park with an empty lot behind. Be shore to walk to the waters edge before deciding which sail. In s/e there is only a small wind shadow, not far from beach.
yes awesome spot!!!
we were young and free!!!!!!! ![]()
biggest swell i have ever sailed in out there sphincter clenching stuff in a 30+ knot blow then into the flats to recover....
love that spot
Saturday was perfect there. The wind was constant all day, no flukes or gusts. Most sore muscles were facial from smiling. Why has this spot been forgotten. Too far for most? Fifteen to twenty years ago in a southerly you would see at least ten/twelve others. Now no one?
