It's hard to describe how absolutely amazing the recent Gerro trip was so I have attached a couple of images to try and capture it. For mine it was easily the best sailing I have ever had and I am already very keen to repeat it next season.
An amazing colour to the water. This is Coronation Beach in Geraldton befor the wind "turned on" for one of the most awesome sessions where we were all fully lit on 4.2 - 4.7m sails.
Not my boom but the result of coming down to hard from a massive jump.
A photo of on of the many trees between Gerro and Lancelin that have grown at an angle due to the power and consistancy of the wind.
It's an awesome spot, good to hear you scored great conditions.
Did really well to snap that boom! If anyone wants to buy a streamlined boom, mines for sale (it's in one piece
). This probably isn't the best add for it
.
I hear you showed those West Ozzies how its meant to be sailed! ![]()
(even though everything was on the wrong tack for you)
So I should go visit me mate Larry who lives on the beach there with a house full of windsurfing gear?![]()
how good are some of those euro sailors, including the girls!
i keep wondering where they go sailing in euroland to get to that level?
They are awesome. I heard later there was a Guy Cribb session being held there. I wish I had have realized earlier so I could have tapped into that program and met the bloke. I reckon he would enjoy a bundy as well.
Perth to Gero is about 5 hour drive along the Brand H'way...
Could stop and have a sail at Greenhead for wave or slalom also - adds to the trip but Greenhead & Leeman tend to have more consistant wind than both Lancelin or Gero - I windsurfed at Leeman for a couple of years in the early 90's and helped out with the "Snag Island Classic" windsurfing event there...
Those were the day's - average 5 day's a week on a 4.5 over the summer months...
