Did really well to snap that boom! If anyone wants to buy a streamlined boom, mines for sale (it's in one piece ). This probably isn't the best add for it .

About 3.5 hours drive from Lancelin. I flew to Perth and then took a smaller plane to Gerro. I took a mast (400), a boom and two sails and hired the board. Next time I think I will take all my kit and drive from Perth. You need a car in gerro anyway and the perth/gerro trip is where the length restrictions apply so you can't take things much over 2 meters in length.

Perth to Gero is about 5 hour drive along the Brand H'way...
Could stop and have a sail at Greenhead for wave or slalom also - adds to the trip but Greenhead & Leeman tend to have more consistant wind than both Lancelin or Gero - I windsurfed at Leeman for a couple of years in the early 90's and helped out with the "Snag Island Classic" windsurfing event there...
Those were the day's - average 5 day's a week on a 4.5 over the summer months...

Im a 88kg fatty - is it worth taking 2 boards (JP FW 102 & Fanatic Freewave 85)?
We will have a car and drive up there anyway.
So I will take my own gear!

How long are you going for? I would def reccomend taking 2 boards if you can fit them in. Because the lagoon is of a reasonable size you might want to take your 102ltr out if the wind is a little ilghter. 88ltr will be fine for most afternoons out the back.. Gero is awesome. We drove over about a year ago and stayed up and down the coast for about 5 weeks. I weigh 93 and took my JP FSW 107ltr and JP Twin 92ltr. I definitely used my smaller board more but was happy I brought the larger one.

Hair cut (another seabreeze member) was over there as well when we went and he only brought 1 board. Cant remember exactly what size it was but it was a reasonably small board for him. From memory, he regretted not bringing his larger freestyle board.
