Always good to get out on the water.
I'm on night shift this week and faced with the prospect of getting sleep, packing the van for Xmas at Cootharaba or going for a quick sail??? You'd go for a sail - right???
The SE winds were a little more gentle than expected and I had decided to take the F2 Comet rather than the Kona long board - should have packed the Kona!!
Arranged to linkup with fellow Bribie sailor willaus0001 and had a great session.
He had a windsup with a 5.2 freek sail and showed me how to have fun with light air freestyle sailing
I had a few runs on the Comet with my newish (Thankyou Seabreeze buy/sell) 8 m sail.
Will gave me a go on the Windsup and we went through doing gybes - my current obsession!
Got the Guy Cribb video last week and already got the staff worried at work as I practice my 'muscle memory' homework in the office during the quiet hours of night shift ![]()
Well I succeeded in stringing together a few successfully gybes - I'm stoked!!
So thanks Will for a great session.
Cheers Jeff
Quietly hoping the van will pack itself and I make it to Elanda point before the weekend. However wind looks good tomorrow morning![]()
Deserve my coffee today!!! Finally got the GO planning - wahoo. :-)
It's been a year of hit and miss with the GO 155l. Today I stitched together a session a sandstone point. Used my 7 m sail.
My buddies will understand the significance of this - I've been defeated more often than not trying to get to terms with the GO. All the reviews say it's a gret board. Been down on myself for not making progress with it. Today I'm a happy man!!
What was different ... ???
I think I'm getting better at understanding mast foot pressure plus some recent high wind sessions on the F2 comet. Today the comet stayed on the roof racks :-(
I'm stoked. ![]()

Now to get the packing finished for Cootharaba
Been following your posts Jeff. Congrats for the success, things will really start to improve now you are over this hurdle. Get stuck into it at Lake C - It's a great place.
Cheers
Nice one Jeff good to hear I am about a year behind you and progressing had a good session at the train trax yesterday - might see you at Cootharaba heading there the weekend after Christmas. Have fun and a great Christmas. Cheers Morgan
Good to read people still getting into the sport. I was where you were 6 years ago. I think I was the only beginner at the time.
Once you're in the harness and straps and planing comfortably there's no looking back. It still feels like flying to me.
I used to write stuff to myself: ![]()
