You can sail Gatakers Bay a good two hours either side of high tide.
It works well as you can see from the video in a southerly/south east
direction, and is an excellent spot for wavesailing in a northerly.

Sausage, I sailed it on sunday in 25 knots plus in one to two meter waves and swell, really is a great place for speed sailing and wave sailing.
