Heading up to Beachmere. Pretty much perfect conditions. Should be sweet.

Looks like it kicked in nicely for you. I recon it would have been awesome. Shearwater was insane i was over powered a lot of the time on my 4.2. Only 3 or 4 people out though. Weird. It was far king rough at times.

Yep. It was awesome. Started on the 4.8 and finished on the 4.2. Nice ramps too

yeah got there about 1pm to drop the board off and the water was churning up nicely. haven't seen little waves like that for awhile. It will be interesting to see how it goes tomorrow if the wind keeps going the way it is. There will be a few of us vintage sailors there tomorrow.

Yes I want to get out tomorrow.
I usually go to sandstone pt in a Se - usually a little more sheltered for this beginner

However would like to check ot beechmere - what can I expect compared to sandstone pt/ pebble beach. Is it a rougher playground?

Given the tide info how far either side of high tide is useable?

Cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff. Anything lower than 1.5m will give you a fairly long walk. Not sure how it compares to sandstone pt or pebble beach but in a SE it is very safe as you are always generally in your depth and the wind is on shore so you sail along the coast (generally speaking). It also has a sandy bottom so there is nothing to cut your feet on. As the wind increases so do the waves. When I say waves, it is not a surf beach but there are some nice little ramps to practice jumps and wave riding. They are also nicely spread out so it is not like sailing in bay chop. As a beginner it would be a great spot, especially in less than 15 kts as it would be a bit smoother. Try to be there on a high tide though as the walk sucks! Park at the end of Neil st. Enjoy

Got out today

I can see I'm a beginner! The wind was light 10 or so kts but the water was a above my experience level.

Not use to the swell. I think in same wind pebble beach is a little more settled - ah well had a lot of practice with beach starts in choppy conditions ever gratefull to be on the water and learning :)

It was a social day met up with the Vintage group - deejay and his mates. Deejay was making much more of the conditions than me.

Also met up with another newbie - mark. He doesn't use Seabreeze - I mean how can you do windsurf and not hang out on Seabreeze???

I sent him a link ;)

Cheers Jeff
