Can anyone tell me what it's like from Cotton Tree camping/caravan park at the mouth of the river. Looks good on google earth. Just wondering about depth v's tides and wind angles etc. (Inside and outside.)

no good from cotton tree unless you are good for the waves in the river mouth or round towards the surf club. There is ok flat water from just past the high rises in Duporth Av along the river across towards Twin waters (past Goat Island). Also good at Mooloolaba southern end or at Kawana.
Lots of kiters off the caravan park or better still get a SUP.

In a NE low tide, you can sail in the deep channel heading off to the left from the caravan park, have seen guys sail there,, its a flat water and very tide effected and a short run to be in the rigth wind zone, angle, quick flat blast, gybe and do it all again ..
out the front in the river mouth and to the Surf club end is great wave sailing and jumping when its windy....At high tide there is quite a few blasting options on the river...Noojar rd on the Nth Side on high tide - E-SE being best- S is sort of ok

Its all very tide dependant,,,pitty its all so silted up, as the entire cotton tree area could be an amzing sailing location!
If your not V/experienced I would advise against the river mouth, unless you plan on getting sucked out to sea!

We stay at Dicky Beach and sail at Neill St . Try that. Caravans get close to the beach but tents are a fair distance.

Dag it is a great place to stay, we go there in the van to sup in the small waves but sailing is much better elsewhere
